In the atmosphere of the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation (13/5/1955 – 13/5/2025), the port city witnesses a new milestone: the tourism – entertainment – culinary product chain in Cat Ba Central Bay invested by Sun Group officially launched on May 30th. This is an important transformation, demonstrating the determination to turn Cat Ba into a high-class tourist destination.
Show built at lightning speed in just 2 months
In just one year, the face of the central bay has changed significantly. A modern seaside square, a spacious beach, an ecosystem of restaurants, a night market, electric transport… have breathed new life into the island paradise. Notably, an art – sports performance on the sea surface has set two Guinness World Records simultaneously, becoming a symbol of the distinct creative spirit and the aspiration to upgrade the destination.
Cat Ba Central Bay shines brightly with world-class art experiences
Vu Trong Hieu – Chairman of Cat Ba Town People’s Committee shared that the locality has determined that it cannot develop in a mass way. This is a place with special landscapes, biodiversity, and cultural depth. Therefore, the locality needs a sufficiently different direction – preserving the heritage and making tourists want to return.
A “miracle” taking place on the sea, unique to Cat Ba in the summer
The show sets 2 unprecedented world records
On the evening of May 30th, thousands of spectators witnessed a special moment: the awarding of two Guinness World Records to the show “Green Island Symphony” – the first time in Vietnam that a show has achieved two world records simultaneously. The show was recognized as the “Largest Formation of Jetski Fireworks Show in the World” and for having the “Most Flyboard Flips by a Single Athlete in One Minute”.
The show brought together nearly 40 world-class international athletes at the same time
“Green Island Symphony” was created in record time, just two months, transforming a coastal area in Cat Ba Central Bay that had never hosted such a large-scale performance into the stage for a world-class sports and arts show. The project saw the simultaneous completion of infrastructure, a grandstand seating thousands, and the operation of multi-layered performance technology at sea, bringing together nearly 40 of the world’s top international athletes performing at the same time to surpass three rigorous audits to set two unprecedented Guinness World Records.
Vietnamese audiences experience world-class art in their homeland
This is a feat not only in terms of organizational skill but also a clear demonstration of the ambition to bring the world’s finest performances to Vietnamese audiences – so that Vietnamese people can enjoy world-class experiences right in their homeland.
The image of the crane fairy
Produced by world-leading production companies H2O Events and LaserVision, and inspired by the legend of the crane fairy and the Five Elements theory, the show recreates the flow of nature using performance technology: jetskis, flyboards, jetsurfs, lasers, fireworks, and music. The premiere night attracted thousands of spectators to the central square and the beach of Cat Ba.
Full house during the show's opening night
A visitor from Sydney, Australia shared: “I thought I was watching a CGI rendering, because the precision and overwhelming nature of each movement was unbelievable.”
The show currently maintains a schedule of 5 nights a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday), from 8:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and is expected to last until early September. The listed ticket price starts from 1,000,000 VND/ticket, with discounts when purchasing combos of 2 or 3 tickets, or combos including dinner. Especially, customers booking tickets through the Sun Paradise Land application will receive a discount of up to 45%, with tickets costing only 550,000 VND – an unprecedented price for an international-scale performance.
Synchronized Infrastructure - Seamless Tourism Experience Completed at "Record Speed"
Not only is it the venue for a record-breaking show, the entire Cat Ba Central Bay has been comprehensively invested in to become the new "tourism heart" of the island paradise. In just one year – especially in recent months – green transportation infrastructure, the central square, the night market, and the chain of restaurants along the coast have all been rapidly completed, providing a seamless tourism experience both day and night.
Vui-Fest Night Market
The Vui-Fest Night Market offers a vibrant atmosphere with mini-shows, a game zone, music, and food. Tourists can enjoy a "miniature Hai Phong food tour" with a range of local dishes, participate in mini-games, grab plush toys, listen to acoustic music, or shop for gifts and local specialties at OCOP stalls.
Sun Kraftbeer craft beer beachfront restaurant
Right next door, two beachfront restaurants, The Forest Beach Club and The Sea Beach Club, serve tourists all day with special cuisine – from fresh seafood to grilled dishes, along with Sun Kraftbeer craft beer, appearing for the first time in Northern Vietnam. A new space for tourists who love to “eat well – drink well – admire the beauty” in the heart of the island.
Along with tourism products, on May 30, Sun Group also officially inaugurated a transportation service connecting from Phu Long cable car station to the Central Bay – where the largest entertainment, culinary and event venues in Cat Ba gather. This bus and electric buggy route is part of the strategy to develop green tourism infrastructure, helping tourists travel conveniently, synchronously and reduce pressure on existing traffic.
Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Sun Group
The simultaneous launch of a series of products in just one day shows Sun Group’s desire to beautify the lands by constantly pursuing difference. “We don’t redo what already exists. We seek what Vietnam doesn’t have, and deserves to have. So that Vietnamese people can enjoy the most exquisite art and culinary experiences, right in their homeland” – Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Sun Group shared.
From areas that were once quiet, Sun Group has contributed to awakening the tourism lifeblood through long-term vision, synchronized investment, and the mindset of bringing the world’s best to Vietnam. And Cat Ba – with the “Green Island Symphony” – is the clearest evidence of that aspiration.
