Bà Ngô is a historical figure associated with chùa Bà Ngô, recorded in many documents with a special background during the early period of the Đinh dynasty. According to historical records and folk legends, her real name was Hoàng Thị Thi, belonging to the Ngô lineage, and related by blood to Ngô Quyền. She was the consort of Đinh Bộ Lĩnh and the mother of Đinh Hạng Lang. Although she did not hold the position of the main wife, she was still respected due to her noble origin, virtue, and certain influence in the political context of the time.
