Located in Tran Chau commune, Cat Ba Island, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city, Cat Ba National Park is recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve with a rich and unique biodiversity, suitable for tourists to visit, relax and explore. Cat Ba National Park is considered one of the areas with the highest biodiversity in Vietnam, a convergence of many different ecosystems such as mangrove forest ecosystems, limestone mountain forest ecosystems, coastal forest ecosystems with coral reefs...

With a total area of up to 15,200 ha, Cat Ba National Park possesses an ideal natural environment for the development of many types of flora and fauna, with over 282 species of animals living in the forest, 538 species of seabed animals, 196 species of marine fish, 771 species of terrestrial plants, 23 species of mangrove plants, 75 species of seaweed, and 177 different species of coral.

In addition, Cat Ba National Park also attracts tourists with its values of human history, ancient values that are being preserved and protected. Archaeological relics found here show that humans may have lived in this area from 6,000 to 7,000 years ago.

From the center of Cat Ba National Park, tourists can choose one of 5 routes, depending on the means of transportation and the places they want to visit to explore the flora and fauna resources of different forest types:

– Long routes with a tour time of 4-8 hours for walking and climbing activities include: Ao Ech – Viet Hai route; May Bau – Military Hospital Cave route; Kim Giao – Me Con – Tung Di route.

– Short routes with a tour time of 2-3 hours for motorbike, bicycle, car, walking, and climbing include: Kim Giao Forest – Ngu Lam Peak, Environmental Education route; Trung Trang Cave – Uy Ban Cave route.
