The journey from Ha Noi to Ba Danh Pagoda is convenient with many different transportation options. From the center of Ha Noi, you go straight along National Highway 1 to Phu Ly city. Here, you turn right and cross Hong Phu bridge. Continue for about 10km on National Highway 21, after crossing Cam Son suspension bridge, you will arrive at Ba Danh Pagoda.

If traveling by private vehicle, the travel time is about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the route and traffic conditions. The estimated fuel cost for both ways is around 100,000 to 150,000 VND, very suitable for a family trip.

If you choose public transport, you can take a passenger bus on the Ha Noi – Phu Ly route, the ticket price per trip is about 70,000 VND. Upon arriving in Phu Ly, continue by taxi or motorbike taxi to the pagoda, with costs ranging from 100,000 to 130,000 VND per way.

2.2. Intra-provincial travel in Ha Nam, Phu Ly

Starting from the center of Phu Ly city or the Ba Da intersection area, the road to Ba Danh Pagoda is quite convenient. You just need to follow National Highway 21B towards Kim Bang, pass through Ngoc Son commune, then turn onto the road leading directly to the pagoda.

This road has been paved and clearly signposted, ensuring safety for both motorcycles and cars. Along the way are scenes of village fields with lush green rice paddies and peaceful countryside, very characteristic of the Northern Vietnamese delta.

To have a good experience when visiting Ba Danh Pagoda, you should choose to wear discreet, polite attire such as long-sleeved shirts and long pants to suit the sacred space of the pagoda; sneakers or flat-soled shoes will make moving around the premises easier, and also prepare a light jacket if traveling in cold weather.

For offerings, prioritize fresh flowers, betel nut and areca, oản cakes, incense, and fresh fruits. These offerings should be vegetarian, strictly avoid savory items or those that are not in line with Buddhist customs and traditions.

When arriving at the pagoda, you park your vehicle at the lot outside the gate, with a fee of 10,000 to 20,000 VND per turn. Remember to keep your parking ticket and check your luggage carefully before moving. Every festival occasion or weekend morning is a crowded time, therefore, it is advisable to go early for a more pleasant experience.
