On the night of December 31st, the Spectacular Countdown 2026 event at Sunset Town became the nation's festival centerpiece, with over 50 shows, gathering 200 international artists, and three fireworks displays in one night, attracting a record number of visitors.

From late afternoon, crowds have flocked to Sunset Town, Phu Quoc South Island (Nam Đảo Phú Quốc) in an eager atmosphere awaiting the New Year's transition. Streets are bustling with music, street shows are lively, and early dinner tables are fully booked. The entire town gradually becomes a giant stage for the New Year's Eve concert.

The first fireworks display of the night came from the show Symphony of the sea. Thousands of fireworks, water fireworks, and flares were launched over the bay, combined with the skillful acrobatics of flyboard athletes and the high-speed water-splitting of jetskis, opening an impressive visual "overture".

The Sun Bavaria GastroPub restaurant is the main stage of the show. The space is filled with music and the aroma of craft beer, bringing guests into a lively and also very warm New Year's Eve dinner.

As the night deepens, the space of the beachfront restaurant, currently the largest in Vietnam, becomes more vibrant with seductive Tango dances, the Iconic Star show vividly recreates the legends of world music, captivating everyone. The climax is when thousands of guests dance to the majestic drumbeats of the Malambo grand show taking place right before the New Year.

Mr. Rahul Sharma, an Indian tourist, excitedly shared while raising a glass with his friends: “Every year I travel during New Year's Day, but I have never seen the atmosphere anywhere as wonderful as here. Everyone dances, laughs, cheers, the atmosphere is too great for a gathering of friends.”

Just a few hundred meters towards the sea, Sunset Beach Club truly becomes a "hot spot" attracting young people. The heat here increases by the minute with exciting performances of Sunny Dance or Yum Yum Dance, connecting thousands of tourists to the same beat.

Next, a high-altitude artistic fireworks display from the "Kiss of the Sea" show once again lit up the sky, with tens of thousands of visitors from the show's grandstand, beer restaurants, Sunset Beach Club, and the town's streets erupting with emotion.

As the countdown ticks down to the final seconds of 2025, the entire Hoang Hon Town held its breath before erupting in cheers: "3... 2... 1... Happy New Year!".

At exactly 0:00 AM, the high-altitude fireworks display designed by the reigning DIFF champions officially exploded. With the longest duration of the year and double the usual density of fireworks, the sky over Phu Quoc transformed into a magnificent canvas of light reflecting onto the sparkling sea. At the same time, the "HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026" symbol lit up, concluding the night's series of 3 fireworks shows with a perfect ending.

In that sacred moment, people exchanged warm hugs and sweet kisses amidst the resounding cheers. Beer glasses were raised again to celebrate a peaceful new year.

Ms. Anna Ivanova, a Russian tourist, emotionally shared with her family: “It’s truly overwhelming and happy! I’ve never experienced a New Year’s Eve as beautiful and spectacular as tonight in Phu Quoc. The fireworks, the sea, the music, everything was perfect. I feel a wonderful energy and believe this new year will be full of joy.”

The echoes of the festival continued until dawn to the frenzied DJ beats, turning Sunset Town into a true "sleepless" destination. The success of Spectacular Countdown 2026 was not just in the records, but in the smiles and complete happy moments that visitors brought into the new year.

During the New Year's Day holiday, Phu Quoc is welcoming a record number of visitors.
