On May 20, 2025, the Prime Minister signed and issued Decision No. 979/QD-TTg, officially approving the investment plan and the investor for the Sun PhuQuoc Airways project.
According to the Decision, the project investor is Phu Quoc Sun Airlines Company Limited. This is known to be a company under the Sun Group. The project name is “Sun PhuQuoc Airways - SPA”.
Tourists will have more airline options when traveling to and from Phu Quoc
According to the approved plan, SPA will have a total fleet size of 31 aircraft by 2030. The total investment capital of the project is VND 2,500 billion (equivalent to approximately US$98.81 million).
The project's goal is to establish a new airline with the main business model of transporting passengers by commercial air, combined with operating a charter model to serve tourists traveling to tourist and business centers in Vietnam and the world, typically famous tourist sea and island areas, and bustling commercial and financial centers.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways will add another bridge, bringing Phu Quoc closer to domestic and international tourists
In particular, SPA is opened with the mission of bringing tourists from countries around the world to the island paradise of Phu Quoc. Having another airline to the island paradise will also create conditions for Vietnamese people to easily and conveniently reach Phu Quoc.
The Prime Minister's official approval of the investment plan for Sun PhuQuoc Airways is a significant milestone for Vietnam's aviation industry and the development of Phu Quoc tourism. Along with other airlines in the market, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will add a new bridge, bringing Phu Quoc - the second most beautiful island in the world after the Maldives - closer to domestic and international tourists.
Phu Quoc International Airport will become an impressive, modern, and convenient gateway to the island paradise
It is expected that in the fourth quarter of 2025, SPA will officially operate its first flights, connecting Phu Quoc with major economic and tourism centers domestically and internationally.
Along with Sun PhuQuoc Airways, Sun Group is also operating the high-class shared airline Sun Air, providing high-class private jet services that are personalized and specialized for luxury guests.
