One of the must-try experiences when traveling to Cat Ba is the world’s most modern tri-cable ropeway system, with its modern design and strong port city vibe. It is part of the Sun World Cat Ba Cable Car tourist area.

Officially opened on June 6th, the Cat Hai – Phu Long tri-cable ropeway stretches 3,955m, connecting Cat Hai island’s center to near Cai Vieng wharf on Cat Ba island. It has 60 cabins with a capacity of 30 passengers/hour. Designed and consulted by the world’s leading ropeway company Doppelmayr, the ropeway has a capacity of 4,500 passengers/hour, halving travel time and easing congestion during peak seasons.

Experience the Cat Hai – Phu Long Cable Car

The Cat Hai – Phu Long cable car has a 214.8m-high cable tower, recognized by the Guinness World Records as the "world’s largest cable car tower." This is a significant milestone, marking the strong transformation of Cat Ba tourism, contributing to building Cat Ba into an internationally-standard tourist area with regional significance in Asia, quickly turning Cat Ba into a new and exciting destination for domestic and international tourists.

Along with the Guinness record-breaking cable car, the modern and spacious station buildings in Cat Ba offer visitors exceptional experiences. In the initial phase, Sun World Cat Ba Cable Car will operate two stations: Cat Hai station and Phu Long station, out of the project’s five main stations.

Cat Hai station belongs to Sun World Cat Ba Cable Car
