Recently, Red Soil Beach has been receiving significant investment to renovate and improve the landscape. Bai Dat Do Beach is gradually being oriented to become a more spacious and convenient public space for residents and tourists. The initial items being implemented are seen as a starting point for the journey to change the appearance of Red Soil Beach in the coming time.
Specifically, on November 16, 2024, the Red Soil Public Beach project, the coastal walking path within the International Sea Square project, was officially commenced to increase public amenities and meet the needs of residents and tourists. The project is being carried out by the local government with socialized capital from Sun Group.
The Red Soil Public Beach and the coastal walking path are part of phase 1 of the International Sea Square project in An Thoi, with a total area of 16.96 ha. The project is being carried out in the Red Soil Beach area, which has a length of about 1.7km and possesses significant tourism potential.

After being planned as a public beach, Red Soil Beach will be landscaped, cleaned of waste, and supplemented with thousands of coconut trees and green trees, creating a beautiful and high-quality beach for residents and tourists. In phase 1, the local government will simultaneously implement a 9m-wide coastal walking path, running along the length of the beach, with green trees, landscaping, and modern lighting systems, creating a relaxing space for walking and sightseeing for residents and tourists visiting the beach. Many other amenities will also be added along the walking path, such as restaurants, beachfront bars, venues for fairs, outdoor exhibitions… turning this place into an attractive new public entertainment and recreational hub of Phu Quoc.
In the future, when the international beach square project is implemented in subsequent phases, a complete public space will be created, with a sea-facing square axis – a venue for water music performances, light shows, festivals, large-scale international exhibitions, outdoor carnivals… At that time, this will be the location of one of the most prestigious beach squares in the region, an international cultural and artistic center worthy of the position of Asia's most beautiful island and one of the world's top destinations.
