1. Introduction to Am Tien Tourism Area
The Am Tien spiritual and historical relic tourism complex – Am Tien Legend – has officially launched under the name “Am Tien Legend”. This key project aims to promote the historical value of Nu Mountain – a famous land associated with Ba Trieu’s uprising, and simultaneously build an international-scale cultural and spiritual tourism center.

2. Location and Scale of Am Tien Tourism Area
Located on Nu Mountain, Tan Ninh commune (former Trieu Son district), Thanh Hoa, Am Tien Tourism Area occupies a prime location near the area where Ba Trieu launched her historical uprising. This location not only holds profound historical significance but also possesses a sacred location and majestic mountain scenery, ideal for spiritual tourism.
The project covers an area of over 350 ha, implemented in three mutually supportive phases. Phase 1 focuses on the commercial service and cable car area with an area of 31.74 ha, creating an infrastructure foundation for tourists. Phase 2 develops the spiritual space and cultural landscape, while Phase 3 completes the nearly 300-ha ecotourism resort. Am Tien Tourism Area, upon completion, will become the largest integrated tourism complex in the North Central region.
3. Typical Projects in the Am Tien Legend Project
3.1. Modern Cable Car System Connecting Tourist Attractions
In phase 1, Am Tien tourist area will deploy 2 cable car lines out of a total of 4 lines using a single-rope model, becoming the "backbone" connecting all important items, from the foot of Nua Mountain to the area at the foot of the Great Sun Buddha statue. The first line is 1.2 km long, and the second line is 1.5 km long, taking visitors through lush green forests, offering a panoramic view of the complex and magnificent nature.
The cable car station and stations are delicately designed with inspiration from conical hats, temple roofs, and ao dai patterns, both modern and harmonious with the spiritual space. Not only a means of transportation, the cable car is also a unique high-altitude sightseeing experience, helping visitors immerse themselves in nature and a meaningful pilgrimage journey.
3.2. 167.5m tall Great Sun Buddha Statue - Am Tien's Icon
The most prominent spiritual and artistic highlight of the Am Tien tourist area is the Great Sun Buddha statue with a total height of 167.5m, including the base and the Buddha statue. The work was crafted by hundreds of leading Vietnamese bronze casting artisans, using imported copper and modern silver plating techniques, creating a glorious and majestic beauty.

The Buddha statue is not only a spiritual symbol but also the center of the complex, connecting with the tourism service area and the cultural landscape axis, creating a unique space for pilgrimage, worship, and meditation. Upon completion, this will be the largest silver-plated bronze Buddha statue in the world, becoming a masterpiece of Buddhist art, attracting visitors and Buddhists from all over to Am Tien.
3.3. White Lotus Dome
Right under the Great Sun Buddha statue, the White Lotus Dome becomes the sacred center of the Am Tien complex, and also a vibrant mapping art performance space. The design is inspired by the image of the lotus flower in the Le Dynasty, honoring the purity and purity in Buddhism, while also having a modern aesthetic.
The transition area between the Buddha statue and the dome houses a large Koi pond with over 3,000 white fish, a symbol of determination, purity, and longevity. Besides, the 35m high Prayer Tower with 300 flutes echoing in the wind creates a "meditation in motion" experience, bringing a sense of peace and serenity to visitors before embarking on a pilgrimage journey throughout the complex.
3.4. Huyen Tich Village
In phase 3 of the Am Tien tourist area, Huyen Tich Village will be a unique cultural highlight, recreating the image of Ba Trieu through sculptures, the symbol of the white elephant, bronze gongs, war drums, and architectural details bearing historical imprints. Tourists will experience a vivid space, from Ba Trieu’s childhood to the period of fighting against foreign invaders, while learning about the heroic traditions of Thanh Hoa province.

This area also combines modern festival and art spaces such as VAC Theatre, the Chim Lac light bridge, the Sun Clock gate with interactive projections, a ceramic wall depicting eight stages of the Buddha’s life, along with pagodas with bamboo leaf domes, terracotta tiles, and curved roof tiles, creating a multi-colored cultural and spiritual journey, completely different from traditional spiritual tourist areas.
3.5. Diverse Commercial and Culinary Area
Am Tien tourist area promises to gather a full range of rich commercial and culinary services, from culinary areas and shopping services to souvenir areas located along the main axis and at important connecting points. The restaurants here serve both traditional Thanh Hoa cuisine and other regional specialties.
