Complete guide to Golden Bridge and Ba Na Hills 2026

Travel Guide
08/04/2026
Held aloft by two giant stone hands above the mist-shrouded peaks of Ba Na Hills, the Golden Bridge has become one of Vietnam’s most recognized landmarks since its debut in 2018 and is now ranked among the most beautiful bridges in the world. Spanning nearly 150 meters at 1,414 meters above sea level, it opens onto sweeping panoramas where mountains, clouds, and coastline converge in a single frame.

Perched high above the clouds, the Golden Bridge is often the first image that comes to mind when people think of Da Nang - a place where architecture doesn’t just sit within nature, but becomes part of the landscape itself.

1. About the Golden Bridge

The Golden Bridge sits within Sun World Ba Na Hills, part of the Sun Group ecosystem, on Chua Mountain, approximately 25 kilometers southwest of Da Nang city center. At 1,414 meters above sea level, the bridge stretches as a golden arc suspended between forest and sky, offering panoramic views across the Truong Son mountain range.

Ba Na Hills carries a history that predates the bridge by nearly a century. Between 1919 and 1938, French colonial officials developed the summit into a highland retreat, complete with villas, infrastructure, and leisure facilities. Today, that legacy has been reimagined and expanded by Sun Group into a large-scale mountaintop destination, where heritage elements such as the Debay Wine Cellar, which dates back to 1923, coexists with contemporary attractions. The mountain has been drawing visitors upward for over a hundred years, the Golden Bridge is simply its most iconic expression today.

Since its debut, the Golden Bridge has received international recognition from major global media outlets including Time, The Guardian, The Independent, and Daily Mail, and has been repeatedly honored at leading travel awards. Nearly a decade on, it remains one of the most photographed and widely recognized architectural landmarks in global tourism.

As Ba Na Hills can get particularly busy during peak hours, many visitors choose to book their tickets online in advance here to avoid queues and plan their visit more smoothly.

No feature of the Golden Bridge has captured global attention quite like its two monumental stone hands. Rising from the mountainside as if shaped by nature itself, they cradle the golden walkway above a sea of mist, creating an image that feels at once ancient and surreal. Each hand is engineered from a steel framework, layered with wire mesh and finished in fiber-reinforced materials to achieve the texture of weathered, moss-covered stone. The result is more than a striking design as it is a visual metaphor that resonates universally, evoking the sense of something precious held gently between earth and sky.

From the midpoint of the bridge, the perspective shifts with the weather. On clear days, the coastline of Da Nang stretches into the distance, when mist rolls in, the hands dissolve partially into clouds, leaving the walkway suspended in white. Both moments offer distinct impressions, and together they define the enduring appeal of the Golden Bridge.

3. Golden Bridge Ticket Price 2026

There is no standalone ticket for the bridge. Entry is included in the Sun World Ba Na Hills admission package, which covers the cable car, Golden Bridge, French Village, Moon Castle, Fantasy Park, Linh Ung Pagoda, and all daily shows. The cable car operates from 08:00 to 22:00. One of the smoothest way to include everything within your itinerary is to secure the ticket in advance, even before you reach Da Nang.

Prices are subject to seasonal changes. Verify on the official Sun World Ba Na Hills website before visiting. Guests may use the cable car unlimited times (up & down) within 3 days from the first Face-ID scan, but not exceeding the ticket's validity period.

4. Best Time to Visit

March to August offers the clearest skies and the best views, with full visibility across the mountains and out to the coastline.

September to February, mist becomes part of the experience. The stone hands often appear and disappear in the clouds, giving the bridge a more atmospheric feel. Crowds are lighter during this period, making the visit quieter and more relaxed.

5. How to Get There

From Da Nang city center (~25km): by motorbike rental (100,000–150,000 VND/day), taxi or Grab (350,000–450,000 VND/trip), or tourist shuttle bus (approx. 150,000 VND return).

At the base station, the Guinness World Record-holding cable car system carries visitors to the summit in approximately 20 minutes over an unbroken forest canopy. Cable cars operate from 08:00 to 21:30.

6. Beyond the Bridge: What Sun World Ba Na Hills Has to Offer

Many arrive for the Golden Bridge, then find themselves drawn into everything that lies beyond it. Sun World Ba Na Hills is not a single attraction, it is a fully realized mountain destination, carefully developed over more than a decade into one of Vietnam’s most distinctive tourism landmarks. The Golden Bridge may be its most iconic image, but it is only the beginning. What unfolds across the mountain is a layered experience that rewards those who take their time: from cultural and architectural depth to immersive entertainment and landscape design.

6.1. The Debay Wine Cellar

Most visitors pass it without a second glance, its underground location making it easy to overlook amid the busier attractions above. The Debay Wine Cellar, built in 1923 and named after the French captain who first surveyed Ba Na, was carved horizontally into the mountain’s rock face rather than dug downward like traditional European wine caves. Stretching roughly 100 meters into the mountain, it maintains a constant temperature of 16 to 20 degrees Celsius and houses 14 stone alcoves once used to store wines imported from France during the colonial period. Inside, the vaulted ceiling and rough stone walls create a rare stillness shaped by more than a century underground - an experience that takes less than 20 minutes and costs around 100,000 VND, yet remains one of the most atmospheric and unexpectedly rewarding stops at Ba Na Hills.

6.2. Linh Ung Pagoda

From the cellar, follow the mountain upward toward its oldest layer. Ba Na Hills was considered sacred long before anyone built a cable car to reach it. The temple complex offers prayer halls, incense offerings, and contemplative garden spaces that feel genuinely removed from the rest of the resort. For Vietnamese Buddhist visitors it needs no introduction. For everyone else it offers something that no amount of architecture or entertainment can manufacture: the sense that this mountain has been considered holy for a very long time, and that the cable cars and cobblestone streets are the recent arrivals, not the prayers.

6.3. French Village

Those cobblestone streets unfold within the French Village, a space designed not just to be photographed but to be experienced. Built as part of Sun World Ba Na Hills, the village invites a slower pace, with winding alleys leading past pastel façades, Gothic archways, and a central square anchored by a cathedral-style church. Step inside, and the atmosphere shifts, stained glass softens the light, vaulted ceilings create a natural hush, and every detail feels intentional rather than ornamental.

But it is after the crowds leave that Ba Na Hills reveals its most atmospheric side. As the mist rolls in and the village lights begin to glow, the entire setting takes on a quieter, almost cinematic rhythm, something only those who stay overnight truly get to experience.

At the heart of it is Mercure Danang French Village Ba Na Hills, currently the only hotel on the mountain, making it the sole option for an overnight stay within the destination. More than just convenience, it becomes part of the experience itself allowing guests to witness Ba Na in its most intimate moments, long after day visitors have departed.

Recognized as World’s Leading Themed Resort 2025 by World Travel Awards, the property blends seamlessly into the architectural narrative of the village, extending the story beyond sightseeing into a fully immersive stay.

6.4. Lunar Castle

Rising through the mist like a fortress in the clouds, the Lunar Castle introduces a more immersive, story-driven side of Ba Na Hills. The journey begins with the Lava Train funicular, a short underground ride that creates a clear transition from the open-air atmosphere of the French Village into the mythical “Moon Kingdom.”

Conceived as a sacred realm where the Moon Goddess resides, the castle is built around a narrative rather than a single central plaza. Its interiors unfold through a series of grand corridors and layered spaces, where light, sound, and architecture work together to create a sense of mystery. Moonlight-inspired design elements, vaulted ceilings, and theatrical lighting guide visitors deeper into this imagined world, making the experience feel continuous rather than segmented.

Within the castle, experiences are integrated directly into the structure. The Flying Eyes Theater and the 4D Moon Junction Theater are embedded along this journey, offering immersive cinematic experiences that extend the storyline of the Moon Kingdom. Beyond entertainment, the space also invites slower exploration, from surreal photo spots with a giant floating moon to quieter corners where the atmosphere itself becomes part of the experience.

6.5. Fantasy Park

In contrast, Fantasy Park offers a more direct, high-energy experience. Spanning over 21,000 square meters, it is one of the largest indoor amusement zones in Vietnam, designed to cater to families and groups seeking variety within a single space.

The park brings together a wide range of attractions, from adrenaline-driven rides to interactive 3D and 4D games, creating an environment that balances physical thrills with digital immersion. Unlike many standalone amusement areas, Fantasy Park is fully integrated into the Ba Na Hills experience and included in the standard ticket, making it a natural extension of the day rather than a separate stop.

6.6. Live Performances

By evening, Ba Na Hills shifts into a more vibrant rhythm as three signature shows, such as Love in the Sky, Malambo, and Afterglow begin to unfold across the destination. Love in the Sky brings a poetic, romantic tone with its graceful staging, while Malambo injects energy through powerful drumming and dynamic choreography, creating a lively, festive atmosphere on the mountain.

As the sun dips behind the peaks of Nui Chua, the experience builds toward Afterglow at Beer Plaza, where a 360-degree cabaret-inspired performance adds a bold, theatrical edge. It’s in these moments that Ba Na Hills reveals itself as more than just iconic sights, but a destination shaped by layered, immersive experiences that continue well beyond the first impression.
