23/07/2026
The Golden Bridge in Ba Na Hills is one of Da Nang's prominent tourist attractions, impressing with its design of a golden silk strip supported by giant hands amidst the mountains. Located at an altitude of over 1,400m, the bridge not only attracts domestic tourists but also creates a significant buzz in international media, becoming a new symbol of Vietnamese tourism.

1. Where is the Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills? Why is it going viral globally?

1.1. Overview of the Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills

The Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills is a structure located within the Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area, at an altitude of over 1,400m above sea level. Unlike ordinary bridges, the Golden Bridge does not span a river but is situated halfway up a mountain, opening up a walking path amidst the space of clouds, sky, and primeval forest, offering a wide view of the entire natural landscape and the distant city of Da Nang.

With this special location, the Golden Bridge not only serves to connect different areas within the tourist complex but also becomes an experiential stop, where visitors can clearly feel the intersection between architectural works and natural landscapes.

1.2. Unique "giant hands" design

The point that makes The Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills different is its design of a curved golden silk ribbon, supported by giant hands resembling those of a mountain god. This idea originated from the perception of the architectural team standing on the mountainside, where humans become small before the majestic nature, thus forming the image of hands supporting the bridge as part of the landscape.

The image of hands with a rough, moss-covered surface, treated with theming techniques, gives the structure a natural feel, as if born from the very mountains and forests of Ba Na. This approach helps the Golden Bridge not only be an architectural work but also a landscape story clearly expressed through form and material.

1.3. International Media Phenomenon

From the moment it appeared, Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills quickly became a phenomenon in international media. The image of the bridge with its distinctive design was simultaneously published and analyzed by many major news agencies such as CNN, BBC, The New York Times, The Guardian…, making this structure one of the most talked-about destinations in the tourism industry at that time.

Beyond just newspapers, the Golden Bridge also created a strong ripple effect on social media and video platforms, with hundreds of thousands of posts. Many international reviews have called it one of the most unique and impressive pedestrian bridges in the world, contributing to bringing the tourism image of Da Nang and Vietnam to a wider global audience.

2. Design and Structure of Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills

2.1. Architectural Concept and Design Unit

Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills was designed by TA Landscape Architecture, commissioned by Sun Group, with the goal of creating a walkway on the mountainside while ensuring harmony with the natural landscape. The challenge for the architects was not only to connect spaces but also to minimize the impact on the terrain and the area's ecosystem.

From that requirement, the idea of a bridge supported by the hand of a mountain god was formed, both symbolic and creating a connection between the work and nature. This design helps convey emotions about human insignificance before nature, while also creating a strong visual highlight.

2.2. Outstanding Technical Specifications

The Golden Bridge has a total length of 150m, including 8 spans, 7 piers, and 2 abutments. The total width of the bridge is 5m, with a 3m wide walkway for visitors and 1m wide flower beds on both sides. The main structure of the bridge uses reinforced concrete for the foundation and piers, combined with an I-beam steel system to form a sturdy load-bearing frame. The bridge surface is clad with gold-plated steel, combined with titanium-plated stainless steel railings, creating a striking light effect under the sun. The bridge deck is paved with natural kiền kiền wood, helping to increase durability and suit the characteristic weather conditions in the high mountain area.

The most special highlight of the Golden Bridge is the pair of giant hands supporting the bridge deck. Although shaped like natural rocks with rough, mossy surfaces, this structure is actually made of steel pipes combined with steel mesh and a theming mortar layer.

This material treatment helps create a realistic visual effect, making many people mistakenly believe the structure is carved directly from mountain rocks. This detail plays an important role in shaping the image of the Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills as a work that is both artistic and closely connected to the surrounding nature.

3. Construction Process of Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills

The Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills was completed in just about 6 months, from October 2017 to April 2018 – a pace considered very fast for a construction project located on complex high mountain terrain.

To ensure progress, at many times, over 100 personnel participated in construction, coordinating closely between the investor, design unit, and contractors. The project was implemented continuously, taking full advantage of the rare favorable conditions of the mountain weather.

The construction of the Golden Bridge took place under steep terrain, large slopes, and harsh weather conditions characteristic of Ba Na. Frequent heavy rains disrupted progress, even washing away newly completed foundations, forcing the construction team to continuously adjust plans.

Dense fog, high humidity, and low temperatures also directly affected the construction process, from positioning and operating machinery to the health of the workers. At many times, construction had to switch to nighttime due to daytime priorities for material transportation on the limited mountain road.

4. Actual Experience at the Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills

4.1. The feeling of walking among clouds and sky

Walking on the Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills offers a different sensation compared to many similar structures, as the surrounding space is enveloped by clouds, wind, and mountains. At an altitude of over 1,400m, the bridge blends into the landscape, creating an experience that is both real and somewhat surreal, as the boundary between the structure and nature is almost blurred.

4.2. Panoramic views of mountains and the city

From the location of the Golden Bridge, visitors can observe the entire expanse of Ba Na's mountains and forests, along with the distant city of Da Nang when the weather is favorable. The wide, unobstructed view makes this one of the most impressive scenic spots on the tour.

4.3. Check-in and sightseeing experience

With its distinctive design and surrounding natural scenery, the Golden Bridge Ba Na Hills quickly became a check-in spot attracting a large number of tourists. The image of a golden silk ribbon supported by giant hands creates an easily recognizable visual composition, making every photo opportunity distinctly iconic.
